I cannot have an exhibition about my artistic journey without reference to Loch Craobh / Loughcrew. Living in sight of the 5,500 year old cairn, the chamber of which will be lit by the Equinox dawn, it has been the inspiration of countless paintings. Indeed, it was the story of the ancient Sovereignty Goddess, the Cailleach and her attachment to these monuments, that began my journey to listen and see the legends of language and landscape. Here, after one of my many wild wintery walks on the hill top, I painted this more impressionist version of the cairn, to create the sense of how land, monuments and sky come together in a swirl of ever changing colours.
