There is a light on stage that is left shining, even when the performance is over. It is there for practical purposes, to prevent accidents in a world that would otherwise be pitch black. During Covid, the arts, in all its aspects, suffered more than many other vocations; no rehearsals, performances, sessions, or classes, big or small. To me, the Ghost Light was that one vestige of normality, holding on with hope, that someday soon, this space would once again be brimming with music and drama. The dark profile above the stage, is the spirit of those gone before, who have tread these boards, still the guardians of a place they loved so dearly.
